Meet Shanneka Spanner

Shanneka Spanner

A Legacy of Craftsmanship in Woodworking

Born in 1985 on the vibrant island of St. Croix, I, Shanneka Spanner, have always been enveloped by the rich traditions of craftsmanship instilled in me by my late father, Carol Spanner. A master woodworker, he was renowned for his exceptional artistry, particularly with the stunning mahogany that flourished in our tropical surroundings. Growing up in his workshop, I watched in awe as he transformed raw wood into exquisite furniture pieces that were not just functional but truly works of art.

His dedication to the craft and his ability to see beauty in nature's materials deeply inspired my own journey in woodworking. With every carefully crafted joint and polished finish, I learned the importance of patience, precision, and a sincere love for the process. The workshop was more than a space for creation; it was a sanctuary where the heartbeat of our family legacy resonated through every piece we produced.

Today, I carry forward this passion and the invaluable lessons my father imparted to me. My work reflects not only my technical skills but also a profound respect for the environment and the soulful connection between the maker and the material. I am also deeply grateful to the supportive figures in my life, including Mr. Vincent, Big Al, Mr. McBean, and Mr. Craftsman, whose guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in my woodworking journey. Their wisdom and camaraderie have enriched my experience and fueled my growth as a craftsperson.

Through my creations, I strive to honor my father's legacy while forging my own path in the world of woodworking. I am excited to share my journey and contributions to this timeless craft as I continue to explore the endless possibilities that wood offers, guided by the love and wisdom of those who have shaped my path.
