Meet Janice M. Penn

JMarie was born on the beautiful island of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Growing up between the U.S. and the British Virgin Islands provides a connection that allows her subject matter to draw from the past, while linking to the present. This gives individuals who view her work an opportunity to reflect on certain moments in time and ponder what life may have been like then. Her art depicts Virgin Islands' way of life and many scenic views throughout the islands. JMarie's artwork primarily consists of acrylic on canvas, however, she also incorporated mixed media art, pyrography and crafts in her collection. It is her belief that art should be inspiring and functional. She found it fitting to have some of her paintings transformed in to prints, wearable and decorative pieced that accentuate the home or business.
